Robert Andrew Jackson

Robert Andrew Jackson, 89, of Tyronza, Arkansas died Monday July 9, 2012 at his home. He was born December 23, 1922 in Whitton, Arkansas to Robert Andrew Jackson Sr. and Jenettie Calvert Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a farmer and a U. S. Army veteran earning three Bronze Stars while serving in Burma, China and India during WWII. He was the Chairman of the Deacons at the Whitton Baptist Church and a was member of the Tyronza First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Andrew Jackson Jr. and Jenettie Calvert Jackson, a brother; Joel Calvert Jackson and a sister; Jennie Mae Jackson Haynes. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Austin Jackson of Tyronza, Ark.; two sons, Robert Andrew Jackson III and Gregory Austin Jackson both of Tyronza, Ark.; a sister, Wilma Jackson Hardway of Marked Tree, Ark.; two brothers, John M. Jackson (Shirley) of Florence, Ala.. and J.P. Jackson (Edith) of El Centro, Calif.. as well as many loved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Tyronza First Baptist Church in Tyronza, Arkansas starting at 11 a.m. with services following at 2 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Church with burial at Whitton Cemetery in Whitton, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Whitton Cemetery Fund or the Stain Glass Window fund at the Whitton Baptist Church.
