Ronald Daniel Bagley

Ronald Daniel Bagley, 74, died Sunday, July 8, in Coweta, Oklahoma, following a long illness. Born in Conway, Arkansas on February 28, 1938, his parents were Roy and Fay Ella Bagley of Camden, Arkansas, both deceased. "Ron" is survived by his devoted wife Joy Bagley, and her parents Carolyn and Glen Anders. He is also survived by his sister, Sarah Bagley Peterson and husband Clyde of Houston, Texas, and two sons from a previous marriage, Dan Bagley and Warren Bagley. Ron graduated from high school in Fayetteville, Arkansas. A graduate of Hendrix College, he earned masters degrees from the University of New Orleans and Tulane University. In his last year at Hendrix, he served as minister to several small Methodist churches in central Arkansas. Upon completion of his education, he worked as a city planner, developer and, in later years, taught at the high school level. Nothing pleased Ron more than a good story. He enjoyed friendships through the years and loved to entertain. He also loved music and played the piano by ear. As a teacher, he always went the second mile with his students to encourage their interest in learning and, in particular, reading. A graveside service will be at the Spearsville Cemetery in Spearsville, Louisiana where his parents are buried. The service will be Saturday, July 14 at 11 a.m. The family requests that remembrances be to the charity of their choice or to the Spearsville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 265, Spearsville, Louisiana 71277.
