Ida Louise Kennedy

Ida Louise Kennedy, 93, passed away July 16, 2012. Born in Little Rock to Mary Louise Raney and Robert E. Lee Dobbins, she was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary. She was also a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel's Altar Society and volunteered at St. Vincent's Infirmary for over 30 years. She retired from the Arkansas State Revenue Office after over 20 years of service. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph James Kennedy and a grandson, James Joseph Kennedy III, she is survived by her sons, James Robert Kennedy (Cathy) of St. Louis, Missouri and James Joseph Kennedy (Mary) of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Charlotte Anne Gillenwater (John) of Little Rock, Sharon Rose Frawley (Fred) of Dallas, Texas and Marcia Kay Lukas (Donald) of North Little Rock; brothers, Tracy Paul Dobbins (Pat), Sydney Alfred Dobbins and Neil Hamilton Dobbins (Regina); 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 18 at 6 p.m. followed by the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. John F. O'Donnell on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Holy Souls Catholic Church, followed by interment at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Chapter of the ALS Association, 1200 W. Walnut, Ste. 2309, Rogers, Ark. 72756 or to one's favorite charity.
