Charles H. Lewandoski

Mr. Charles H. Lewandoski of Jacksonville, departed this life on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Little Rock at the age of 82. He was born May 20, 1930, in Little Rock the son of Alexander and Awilda Mae (Fowler) Lewandoski. Mr. Lewandoski was a man of many interests and talents. He received his undergraduate degree in Business from Arkansas Tech University and later earned his Masters Degree from Memphis State University. Most of his working years he spent as an Economist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He served his country not only by his career choice, but also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and for 30 years following he served in both the U.S. Army National Guard and as a Reservist. Mr. Lewandoski was a talented jeweler and in later years he enjoyed making and repairing jewelry. He very much enjoyed going to Estate Sales and collecting his finds. Mr. Lewandoski was an avid outdoorsman, and was especially fond of duck hunting, and also enjoyed hunting dove, deer, and squirrel. He was known for his love of cigars and will be missed by family and friends for his many stories and jokes. Mr. Lewandoski worshipped with the church at the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Simmons) Lewandoski; one brother, Wallace Lewandoski; three sisters, Judge Wanda Lewandoski Pierce, Dr. Martha Lewandoski Story, and Tanya Van Brunt. Mr. Lewandoski is survived by two daughters, Tanya Tomlinson of Fayetteville and Anastasia Myrick and husband Kent of Greenland, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Aaron Tomlinson and wife Geneva, Emily Tomlinson, and Kimberly Tomlinson; two great grandchildren, Brylei Tomlinson and Brooklyn Tomlinson; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Graveside services are 11 a.m., Thursday at Blue Springs Cemetery at Newark with Rev. W. Wade Shownes officiating.
