John William Wallace

John William Wallace, 87, of Bald Knob, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at this home. He was born April 3, 1925 in Bald Knob a son of the late Phillip Milton and Edna Wave Radcliff Wallace. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Worden Baptist Church. Mr. Wallace also proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. Survivors include his daughters, Carolyn Leach of Millington, Tennessee and Barbara VanCamp of Lexington, Kentucky; son, Phillip Wallace of Bald Knob; brothers, Roy Wallace and Joe Wallace both of Bald Knob and James E. "Jim" Wallace of Augusta; one sister, Louis McClain of Searcy; six grandchildren, Farrah Chambliss, Jennifer VanCamp, Susan Martin, Justin Wallace, Al Leach and Ashley Leach; eight great-grandchildren and one expected any day. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Hazel June Wallace; brothers, Ray Wallace, Glennie Wallace and Dale Wallace and one sister, June White. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice Home Care in Searcy. Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be conducted Saturday, 2 p.m., Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
