Margaret Elaine Covert

Margaret Elaine Covert, 79, of Benton passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Ridgewood Nursing Home. She was born on October 13, 1932 in Houston, Texas to the late Willis and Mary Maguire Alston. Mrs. Covert retired after working 21 years for J.C. Penney in their Credit Dept., was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, and loved to travel. In addition to her parents, two brothers, Tommy and Pat Alston and two sisters, Mary McElroy and Lillian Miles also preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, George Covert of Benton; five sons, George Covert Jr. and wife Jeannie of Copperas Cove, Texas, Robert Covert and wife Sandra of Dacula, Ga., Keith Covert and wife Judy of Wichita, Kan., John Covert and wife Melinda of Sheridan, Ark., and Joe Covert and wife Debbie of Benton; one daughter, Lisa (Covert) Bruemmer and husband Bruce of Columbia, Mo.; three sisters, Edith Wroten, Alice Spencer and husband Sammy, and Kathryn Demny and husband Norbert; two brothers, George Alston and Jimmy Alston and wife Doris, 18 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Muncy Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening, July 20th at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047).
