Julian Lee Burgess III

Julian Lee Burgess III, 69, of Maumelle, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 19, 2012. He was born September 23, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas, a son of Mayme Nell Rochelle and Julian L. Burgess, Jr. He was a 1959 graduate of England High School, Co-Owner of Delta Gin Company, Co-Owner of Land Improvement Company, Director of Ginning Operations for F&W Agri Services in Albany, Georgia for 12 years, and a farmer for 35 years. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and current member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. He was on the Board of Directors of First Electric for 25 years and Board of Directors of the Arkansas Cotton Warehouse. He was preceded in death by his parents. He enjoyed his family, hunting, farming, and car racing. He is survived by loving wife, Gloria Gibbs Burgess; two sons, Julian L. Burgess, IV, of Maumelle, and John Barton Burgess and his wife, Vicki, of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Joseph, Dylan, Jake, Maggie and Jude; one brother, Danny K. Burgess of Tomberlin; sister-in-law, Rosemary Francisco of Maumelle; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to Felicia Williams and the staff at St. Andrews Nursing and Rehab for their care and kindness.
