Winnie Mae Williams

Winnie Mae Williams, age 92, of Marion, formerly of Gurdon, Ark., passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 in Marion. Winnie was a homemaker and also worked at Austin's Food Store in Gurdon. Having lived during the depression, she knew the value of hard work. She was an excellent seamstress who made beautiful clothes for her daughters and beautiful quilts for her family. She was also a kind, loving lady who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon, where she was active in Sunday School, Women's Circles, and Vacation Bible School. Winnie was preceded in death by her husband Ed Williams and a daughter Barbara Joan Williams. She is survived by two daughters, Martha Howard (Joel) of Hot Springs Village, and Betty Provost (Richard) of Marion; three grandchildren, Blake Howard (Jennifer) of Fort Myers, Fla., Beth Provost of Dallas, Texas, and Brett Provost (Kim) of Jonesboro; great-grandson Drace Provost of Jonesboro; sister, Lue Schoonover of Prescott, and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 24, 2012, 11 a.m. at Rose Hedge cemetery in Gurdon, with Bro. James Guthrie officiating. Online guestbook www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/ballard.
