Our beloved Husband, Dad and Grandfather and Great Grandfather, Gene Mullenax, 79, of North Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 23, 2012. Gene was born in Salito, Ark. His parents preceded him in death Andrew and Julia Brannon Jackson: brothers, D.E. Mullenax, A.J. Mullenax, O.H. (Bill) Mullenax; sisters, Adelle Allison and, Thelma Ebsen. Gene met the love of his life, Nancy and the both of them tried to run away and get married at the age of 13. The judge told them to go home and grow up. So at the age of 17, they were married in 1951 and he remained loving and faithful for 61 years. He was an amazing man that completed a 4 year Sheet Metal Journeyman school, was an entrepreneur, a pilot, an author, and youth minister in Baton Rouge for several years before returning to Little Rock. He was a Pastor with a vision to see churches connected via satellite TV. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, daughter, Judy Mullenax, sons, Robert (Bob) and Dave Mullenax (Julie). Grandchildren include Jodi Mullenax, Joy Foreman (Bobby), Traci Earnhart (Josh), Lance Mullenax (Shannon) and Joshua Mullenax. Great grandchildren include, Katelyn, Matthew and Isabella Foreman, Bailey Doggett, Jaxon Jersey, Wes and Emma Mullenax and a special niece, Denise Mullenax. He will be missed by family and a host of friends. He was a member of NLR First Assembly of God for 26 years and after being homebound for the past two years enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart Media Church. Above all his business successes, his greatest love was his wife and family. He was always a friend to everyone he met. He was an encourager. His message to everyone he met was that Jesus loved them and so did he. A man of great love can be said of Gene Mullenax. Funeral will be at Roller Owens Funeral Chapel (501-791-7400), Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rod Loy & Pastor Tony Minick officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will received friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Online guestbook www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/owens.
