Bill Dial

Bill Dial, age 83, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Malvern, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012. Bill was born in Leola, Arkansas, October 9, 1928, to the parents of Hallie and Ruth Dial. His family moved to Malvern during his senior year, in 1946 and he graduated from Malvern High School the same year. He married DeNora VanDusen, August 9, 1947. Bill worked at A.B. Cook Company for twelve years then went to work for Wilson Lumber Company. In 1972, International Paper Company acquired Wilson Lumber Company and Mr. Dial finished his career with International Paper Company and retired in 2006 at the age of 77. Bill was a great source of support to his family and extended family. His family will remember him as a generous and kind husband, father, and grandfather. He and DeNora attended Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Family, wife, DeNora VanDusen Dial of Plano, Texas; daughter, Jane Dial Whaley and husband Dr. William H. Whaley; grandchildren, Jane Allison Whaley, Cheryl Whaley, Kimberly Whaley Rose, and Cynthia Whaley Burton; son, John Dial of Powder Springs, Georgia; grandson, Matthew Dial and wife Ali; granddaughter, Nora Dial; son, Rick Dial (deceased); daughter-in-law, Phyllis Voss Dial of Malvern; grandchildren, Heather Dial Todd and husband Jason, Ben Dial and wife Kara, and Beth Dial; great-grandchildren, Hallie Todd and Sarah Dial. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 25th from 6-8 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern. Memorial Service will be Thursday, July 26th at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Malvern with Brother Tyler Thompson and Dr. Verne Wickliffe.
