Jerry Lynn Halsey Sr., 64, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at his home. Jerry was born in Jonesboro and lived many years in Monette before moving to Jonesboro in 1988. Jerry was a farmer for 41 years and also owned and operated Ima's of Blytheville from 1978-1982. Jerry operated NEA Taxi in 1994-95. He established Halsey's Self-Storage in Jonesboro in 2008. He loved his customers, and he loved serving them. Jerry was a member of Southwest Church of Christ and was preceded in death by his parents: Orville M. and Gladys LaDon Bray Halsey; and by a brother, Chester Orville Halsey. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Halsey of the home; one son and his wife, Jerry, Jr. and Cheri Halsey of Jonesboro; one daughter and her husband, Leah and Mark Baker of Hot Springs; one sister and her husband, Jenendal and W.T. Bibb of Monette; and five grandchildren; Brandon Cole, Taylor Halsey, Olivia Halsey, Noah George and Lily Owens. A memorial service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Adcox officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until service time on Wednesday at Emerson Chapel.
