Alberta C. "Becky" Brazil went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 22, 2012. She was born in Arkansas on March 16, 1926, and lived most of her life in Little Rock. She was a smart, talented, graceful and strong-willed woman. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked for over 30 years and was the office manager for McDonald Heavy Equipment Company. Becky had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and entertain. She started singing with her dad in church at a very young age, and later sang with a group on a weekly radio program. As a young woman, she sang professionally. She also used her talent to minister to the elderly by singing in area nursing homes. Even in her later years, she brought joy to her family and friends with her singing. Becky loved to watch sports, particularly the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Dallas Cowboys. In the 1960's, Becky and her husband operated the Carlisle Drag Strip in Carlisle, Arkansas. She had a radiant spirit and was full of energy, enthusiasm and laughter, even when times were difficult. Becky loved to cook and give gifts to her family and friends. She was a people person and never met a stranger. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed. Becky was a loving caregiver to her husband, O.D. Brazil, when his health failed. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her sister. She is survived by her son Barry Brazil, her brother, Gene Johnson, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many adoring nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held for this remarkable woman on Monday, August 25, 2012, at 10 a.m., in the pavilion at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot, Arkansas.
