Ann Carvill

Ann Carvill, born April 4, 1955, died July 28, 2012, in St. Vincent's Hospital Hospice. She was preceded in death by her father, H.C. "Bo" Carvill and is survived by her son, James Carvill; her mother, Martha Carvill; her sister, Caroline Carvill; her two grandsons, Christopher and Andrew; her uncle, Brown Robertson (Pam), and Machel Carvill and Emily Bowman. She graduated from Mount St. Mary Academy and worked for many years as a Customer Service Representative for Entergy. A description of Ann would not be complete, and she would agree, without talking about her recovery work in a local 12-step program. She spent 5 1/2 years giving her time, knowledge, and communication skills to lead many women toward the God of their understanding and toward new freedom and happiness many only dreamed possible. She tried to help others see themselves, get free from the past and walk in the present moment with their Higher Power, and conduct themselves with grace and dignity, harming as few people as possible. Ann held herself accountable to carry this message of recovery and to demonstrate these principles in all her affairs as best as humanly possible. The memorial service will be Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Steve Hancock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wolfe Street Foundation, Inc., 1210 Wolfe Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72202, or to a charity of your choice. Her ashes will be buried later in a family plot in Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne, Arkansas. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
