Patrick Wayne Tank, 62, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 29, 2012. After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, he continued to live with dignity and grace. Pat was born January 9, 1950 in Michigan to Wayne and Ruth Tank. After receiving a BS degree from Western Michigan University, he earned a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. He came to Little Rock in 1978 with his wife, Suzanne, to accept a faculty position in the Anatomy Department at UAMS. Pat has had a distinguished career at UAMS, receiving numerous awards and accolades. He has influenced and mentored many medical students during his career. Pat will be remembered by many as an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed all things outdoors, from hunting to hiking and photography. Pat is survived by his wife, Suzanne of 38 years; his mother, Ruth; his sister, Terralene (Richard) Deer, their daughters Barbara (Paul) Templin, Kathlene (Chris) Burt, Aimee (Eric Rogers) Robles, and Laura (Jeffrey) Buda and their families, as well as, members of Suzanne's family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2012 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, (501) 224-8300, with Chaplain Deborah Halter officiating. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his name.
