Ella Mae Barrow, age 71 of Mabelvale, Arkansas died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Baptist Health Medical Center. She was born in Malvern, Arkansas on July 18, 1940 to her late parents Howard and Neta Westerman Fair. Ella Mae worked for the Little Rock Diagnostic Clinic for over 47 years having worked with Dr. Schultz and Dr. Trigg and was very dedicated to her job and to her patients. During her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling and playing golf. In addition, Ella Mae loved being at Lake DeGray on her houseboat named "Miss Ellie" and to those who knew Ella Mae, they also knew her as "Miss Ellie". She enjoyed cooking, cleaning and caring for her devoted husband, children and grandchildren. She looked forward to her weekend trips to her houseboat and fishing for bream with her special "green" rod and reel while using "hot dogs" as bait. She was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include her husband Gerald of 53 years; three children, Debbie Barrow of Bryant, Ark., Donnie Barrow of Mabelvale, Ark. and DeAnna Chapman (David) of Bryant, Ark.; two sisters, Melita Wallace of Malvern, AR and Charlotte Roberts-Bettell of Kansas, Oklahoma; and five grandchildren, Courtney Hieronymus, Kelsey Chapman, Madison Barrow, Cole Chapman and Spencer Barrow; and one great-grandchild, Brody Hieronymus. She also had her special devoted dog Kelli that was always by her side. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2012 at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, Ark. (501) 455-1067 with Brother Tom Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Fairplay Cemetery in Benton. A visitation will be on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
