JAMES W. "BUDDY" SMITH of Mabelvale, Ark. born March 3, 1943 passed away on June 1, 2012. He was a retired roofer, bass fisherman, 32nd degree Mason, Shriner and of the Pentecostal faith. His favorite activity was bass fishing with "Blakeman." He was an entrepreneur owning four businesses, including a plane. He was often mistaken for Glen Campbell one of his favorite country artists. His favorite actor was John Wayne. His best friend and lifetime buddy was Charles Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mabel Smith; sisters, Dovie and Lura Smith, Vicki McGhee, Kathy Miles, Bernice Smith; grandchildren, Jacob Boone Murray and Holly Smith. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 50 1/2 years, Alam Verlene Smith; sons, Tim Smith (Tina); BJ Smith (Heather); daughters, Tresa Harris (Nelson), Carol Murray (Dean), Janie White (James); brothers, Tom Smith; Reverend Hank Smith (Vickie); 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2012 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Ark. 72209 (501) 455-5800 with Pastor Elton Cole officiating.
