Lester Lee Papan, age 85, of Bethany, Okla., died May 5, 2012. He was born on May 15, 1926 in Slovak, Ark., and was preceded in death by his parents, Alma Koehn and Rudolph Papan Sr. Mr. Papan graduated from Stuttgart High in 1944 where he played football for the Stuttgart Ricebirds and was a member of the National Honor Society. Mr. Papan proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II where he was a member of the boxing team. After getting out of the Navy he attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a Catholic. Mr. Papan began his career in the mortgage loan business with the United Corporation in Little Rock. Mr. Papan was the Regional Sales Manager for the National Homes Corporation. Mr. Papan is survived by his son, Curran Conway Papan and his wife Mollie of Little Rock, Ark. and a daughter, Leslee Brown of Fayetteville, Ark. He also has three granddaughters, Kristin Elizabeth Papan of Little Rock and Natalie and Madeline Brown of Fayetteville, Ark. whom he loved dearly and was truly proud of. A graveside memorial service was held at Mount Holly Cemetary, Little Rock, Ark.
