Ola Alidene Malone

Ola Alidene Bennett Malone, age 90, of Plumerville, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012. She began her life's journey on April 29, 1922 in Center Ridge, Arkansas. She was the first of nine children born to Joe and Elva Scroggins Bennett. She graduated from Center Ridge High School in Center Ridge, Arkansas in 1940 and married the late Dalton C. Malone "Pedo" the same year. Her greatest accomplishments were her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her three children and their spouses: Bill Malone (Sandra) of Hot Springs, Dixie Drilling (Denis) of Morrilton and Charles Malone (Ellen) of Plumerville. She was "Nana" to 10 grandchildren: Mark Drilling, Caroline Malone Craven, Amy Drilling Hoyt, Kathleen Malone Pitcock, Dalton Thomas Malone, Patrick Malone, David Drilling, Jon Drilling, Chad Malone and Dustin Malone. Her 18 great-grandchildren: Lindsey Hoyt, Taylor Hoyt, Brooke Malone, Adam Hoyt, Drew Malone, Dayton Drilling, Landon Malone, Rogers Pitcock, Ben Drilling, Phillip Drilling, Julia Malone, Addison Malone, Jack Drilling, Sanlin Malone, Ethan Drilling, Caroline Malone, Finley Malone and Colin Malone. Her surviving siblings are half-sister, Margaret Lanni of Conway, sister, Shirley Gunderman of Morrilton and brother, Bobby (Betty) Bennett of Plumerville. She served as a loving mother to countless others including Bob Gordon and honorary sister, Nita Faye Boone. Alidene's professions included being a beautician, nursing home administrator, seamstress, artist, and homemaker. She was famous for her homemade spaghetti, Italian sausage, and tamales. She loved being a politician at her round kitchen table, was a leading member of the "snoop sisters," and a Plumerville mayoral candidate. Alidene was a member of First United Methodist Church of Plumerville and former member of the Home Demonstration Club. Ola Alidene Bennett Malone of Plumerville, Arkansas peacefully entered into eternal life on June 10, 2012, at the age of 90. She was welcomed home by her beloved husband, Dalton C. Malone "Pedo." She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, J.B. Bennett, sisters: Hazel Dixon, Henrietta Rohlman, Faye Dixon, Joan Paladino and Ellie Magar. She will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered for her mothering, generosity, kindness, friendly nature and strong Christian faith. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Plumerville by Rev. Keith Coker, Rev. Von Dell Mooney, and Father Charles Thessing. Burial will be at Plummerville Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Pallbearers will be Mark Drilling, Tommy Malone, Patrick Malone, David Drilling, Jon Drilling, Chad Malone and Dustin Malone.
