Joe Bill Young

Joe Bill Young, 77, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Russellville, passed away June 16, 2012. He was born to Dennis and Lola Young on April 10, 1935 in Warren, Ark.. Joe Bill was a retired Arkansas State Policeman where he served proudly for over 30 years. His hobbies were fishing, traveling in his RV with his "Sweet Pea," playing card games and he LOVED playing dominoes. When he was living in Russellville, one of his favorite things to do in the week was to meet with the "Domino Boys" at Wesley Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother; Charles Ed Young, and his daughter; Patti Anne Young. His surviving family members are his wife; Billie of Fort Worth, Texas, his daughter; Kathy Wasser and her husband; Wayne, also of Fort Worth. His grandson; Kyle Wasser, his future granddaughter-in-law; Casi Crawley, and his grand-daughter, Amy Wasser. He was a loving, devoted, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Even in the end when he was confined to a wheel chair and had trouble speaking, he always laughed and loved to tell stories of his childhood and his days as a trooper. He loved taking care of his wife and one of his favorite things to do for her was to rub her back and her feet. He never complained about being confined to a wheel chair. If he was ever asked how he was doing, he would always reply "wonderfu.l. He will be missed but never forgotten. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, Ark. 72002 (501) 455-1067. Funeral services will be Friday afternoon, June 22, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills, with interment to following at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, Ark.
