Floyd Haskel (Hack) Burns passed away June 19, 2012 at his home in El Paso, Arkansas. He was born December 29, 1915 to Floyd F. Burns and Etta Cummings in Royal Township, White County, Arkansas. He was a retired farmer and cattleman. Hack was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-eight years, Doris Gillham, his parents, his son, Haskel David, and his daughter, Rayda Sue. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Chelsie, Bedford, Troy, A.D. and McCoy (Son) and a sister, Marcill Moncrief. A grandson, Max Simon, also passed before him. He is survived by three daughters, Mable Etta Schapery of Georgetown, Texas, Bren Simon of Indianapolis, Indiana and Diann Norman of Little Rock. He also leaves behind two sisters and a brother, Beatrice (Bea) Shock and Louise Cearly of Austin and Bill Burns of Cabot. He leaves behind five grandchildren, Randy Shapery of Austin, Texas, Dawn Umphrey of Indianapolis, Indiana, Dee Norman of El Paso, Thad Norman of Beebe and Tammie McCauley of California. His six great-grandchildren left behind are Tasha McCauley and Dylan McCauley of California, Ryan and Julieann Schapery of Austin, Texas, and Jacob Rudd and Aubrey Umphrey of Indianapolis. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Union Valley Baptist Church, with burial in Grissard Cemetery. www.westbrookfuneralhome.com.
