Phillip Dewayne Erwin

Phillip Dewayne Erwin, age 48, of Ivan, departed from this life on June 24, 2012 in the Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden following a long illness. Phillip was a truck driver and a member of the Westside Church or Christ in Camden. Born on September 3, 1963 in Rison he is the son of Phillip Daris and Joleta Jacobs Erwin of Rison. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Eurcell Thompson, his maternal grandfather, James Jacobs and great nephew, Connor Rushing. Other than his parents he is survived by his wife, Robin Hurst Erwin, whom he married on August 22, 1988 in Rison; one daughter, Aleisha Marie Erwin of the home; one sister, Phyllis Williams and husband Greg of Woodlawn; two brothers, James Erwin and wife Kelley of Rison, Joey Erwin and wife Marlana of Rison; maternal grandmother, Geneva Jacobs of Fordyce; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Reba Hurst of Ivan; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Evans of Hensley; six nephews, Tony Rushing Jr. and wife Kristen of Woodlawn, Jesse Rushing of Woodlawn, Daris Erwin, Devin Erwin and Luke Erwin of Rison and Spencer Evans of Hensley; four nieces, Jamie Erwin of Rison, Alicia Rushing of Woodlawn, Samantha Evans of Thornton and Savannah Evans of Hensley; one great-niece Natalie Rushing of Woodlawn and his wife's grandmother, Martha Hurst of Ivan. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2012 Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce with Dwayne Scribner and James Wiehunt officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery in Rison. Pallbearers will be Tony Rushing Jr., Jesse Rushing, Randy Bowlin, Vic Wallace, David Bailey, Jimmy Herrington, Joe Herrington and Daris Erwin. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
