Cleddie F. "Chief" Shock, 87, of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012. He was born November 5, 1924 in Enola, Arkansas to the late Doyle and Nezzie Starr Shock. Cleddie graduated from England High School in 1941 and also received his degrees from the Arkansas Law Enforcement and the National FBI Academy in Virginia. He was a member of the Pine Bluff Police Department where he served 23 years and retired as Chief of Police. Cleddie was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church and a Deacon. He is a member of the Men's Brotherhood and the men's Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Jacob Brump Masonic Lodge 160 and past Chief Provist, member of the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Sahara Temple. Cleddie was a member of the Jefferson County Quorum Court served for seven terms. He was at the State Arkansas Youth Center 13 years and a bailiff for Judge H.A. Taylor for 10 years. He was a member of the Six Point Hunting Club since 1971. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Auldron, Norris and Maze Shock; sister, Lois Griffin. He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. Keeth Shock, whom he married November, 11, 1944; son, Chuck (Lynn) Shock of Stuttgart; daughter, Dianne (Ronnie) Vilches of Watson Chapel; three grandsons, Hunter Shock, Brad (Ashley) Vilches and David (Beth) Vilches; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday in the chapel of Cranford Funeral Home with Reverend Vick McGehee officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. The family will be at their home. Memorials may be made to the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Cranford Funeral Home of White Hall.
