Lee E. Jackson, age 75, of Mabelvale, died March 5, 2012. He was born May 16, 1936 to Lon and Rose Whittenberg Jackson in Sardis, Ark. He graduated from Bryant High School and was a veteran, having served in the 4th Armored Division in Schwaebisch Gmuend, Germany for two years. He was a skilled carpenter and built a great number of beautiful homes for people who started out as strangers but who soon became friends. Throughout his life, his word was his bond. He was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church where he had been a member of the Board of Trustees and the Building Committee. He served faithfully as an usher to the church he loved. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Hulabar Trail Hunting Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ruth Garner and by three brothers: William, Carl, and Ralph Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Seamon Jackson; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mike Heer of Mabelvale; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Carolyn Jackson of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two loving and much loved grandchildren, Rachael and Ryan Heer; two sisters, Louise Parks and Mae Sheridan, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Sardis United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Dickinson officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
