Betty Sue House Andreae, 86, born September 11, 1925, of North Little Rock, passed away peacefully in her home March 1, 2012. She was one of five sisters born in North Little Rock to Clarence Walker House and Virginia (Virgia) Stiles House. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Charles (J.C.) Andreae and three of her sisters: Martha Jean House Beall, Virginia Ruth House Pickens and Glennie Clarice House Prentice. She is survived by her daughter, Gayla Sue Andreae-Pate and son-in-law, Gene Pate of Hot Springs, Ark., her son, John Charles Andreae Jr. (Georgia) of Ohio, and her sister, Claudie Louise House Hill Webb of NLR, Ark. Other survivors include two grandsons, Joseph Daniel Posa, Jr. (Renee) of, Ohio, Drake Alden Andreae, wife Renee of California, two granddaughters, Jessica Andreae Bennet, Ohio and Lauren Kay Andreae, Ohio and four great-grandchildren: Andrew Joseph Posa, Aimee Marie Posa, Ava Danielle Posa, of Ohio, and Ezra Alden Andreae of California. and 15 nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of North Little Rock High School and an active member of the high school band playing the French horn. She graduated in 1943 and attended Peabody Business School. She married her husband, Jay, August 2, 1947, and due to his career they lived in six states before settling in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Following the passing of her husband, she returned to Arkansas from Ohio and, after attending Pulaski Vo-Tech, she became an Arkansas state employee working in the Department of Computer Services. She retired in 1991. Betty was a loving mother and a gentle spirit who was very gracious. She enjoyed watching the moon. When you look up to the moon, remember Betty. One could immediately sense her kindness and willingness to be your friend. Betty had a sense of humor that caught many off guard. You never knew when she would have a retort or remark that would set you back on your heels laughing. She lived a quiet, reserved life but was active in her church and quilting group. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 1922 Topf Road, North Little Rock, Ark., with burial at Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock. Pallbearers will be John C. Andreae Jr., Joseph Posa, Drake Andreae, Gene Pate, Andrew Posa, Danny Hill and David Hill. After the committal service at the Edgewood Memorial Park, a reception will be held back at the church.
