Emmitt Matthew Charton, age 99, of Perryville, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012. He was born December 22, 1912 in Overcup, Arkansas to the late Augustus "Gus" and Lilly Alexander Charton. Mr. Charton was a tree farmer. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Louise Cook Charton; son David (Pauline) Charton of Perryville; daughters, Karen (Bob) Kinkaid of White Hall, Rebecca (Steve) Gothard of Perryville; brothers, Louis (Cleva Lee) Charton of Solgohachia, Wayne (Irene) Charton of Hillcreek; grandchildren, Donna (Bob) Roelke, Pam (Scott) Long, Callie (Christopher) Brand, Roslyn (Darin) Hamelink, Ché Gothard, Bill Kinkaid, Sarah Charton and husband Mac Bird; great-grandchildren, Brent and Chelsea Long, Jacob Brand, Alex, Blake, and Lily Hamelink, Aidan, Conner, and Emily Charton-Bird. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sharon Coelyn; sisters, Clemmie McCaslan and Marie McDaniel; brothers, Clifton, Charlie, and Julian Charton; and a grandson, Ian David Charton. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 10 at Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Perryville with Brother Gordon Morgan officiating.
