Norma Jean Bass, 77, of Jefferson passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2012. She was born in England to the late Tollie Curtis and Gladys (Ward) McCowen on January 16, 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, A.J. Bass and her sons Eddie and Anthony Bass; her brothers, D.D. and Bruce McCowen and her sister, Faye. Norma enjoyed being outside watching the birds and growing flowers and gardening. She had a booth at a local flea market and liked "junking." She worked puzzles and loved to read and do crafts. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Debbie Collie of Jefferson and Renee (Randy) Caldwell of League City, Texas; her sisters Marilyn Sue Brenning and Mae Morgan; her sister in law Maxine McCowen; her grandchildren Stephanie (Brett) Williamson, Misti (Luke) Clingan, Brett (Evon) Derby, Charles (Tara) Derby, Rachel (Chris) Cobb, Devin Caldwell, Leslie Bass, Kayla Caldwell, Kyla Caldwell and Dillon Caldwell; her great- grandchildren, Trevor, Austin, Matlynne, Morgan, Grant, Wyatt, Dalton, Jesslin, Brodie, Braxton, Bryce, Carter and Elliott and a host of extended family and friends, all who will miss her. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Bridge Church at 1002 South Pine Street in Cabot. Online guest register available at www.griffinleggettforesthills.com.
