Mother Ethel Thomas, of Little Rock, age 76, passed Tuesday. She was born on June 9, 1935 to the late Lizzie James and Willie Kendrick. She was the youngest of five children; Leola, Nathan, Willie, and Thelma. All preceded her in death. In 1969 she united with Dan C. Thomas in marriage that spanned almost 30 years until his death in 1998. She was birth mother to four children but claimed six, they are Jean Walker (Dannie), Theoplis Cook (Yvonne), Robert Kendrick (Gerri), Ann Childs (Maurice [RIP]) Hollis Harris (Leoma) and Charlie Morman. She has eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was deeply religious faith filled woman who lived her life in a manner that was an example of real faith, courage, and love to all who knew her. Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Saturday at Watson-Northcrest Funeral Home, 1801 Maple, North Little Rock. Funeral: 11 a.m. Sunday at Mt. Lake Baptist Church on the Old England Hwy. near Scott. Rev. Calvin Blankenship Pastor, Interment: Heaven of Rest Cemetery in Brinkley, Ark. Arrangements entrusted to Watson-Northcrest Funeral Home, NLR, Ark. Donations may be make in her honor to the Arkansas Foundation for Lupus and Sickle Cell at Regions Bank. This organization offers resources for people like here great-grandson Kaleb Shelton who battles Sickle Cell every day. She would be pleased at your kindness.
