Bruce King Washington

BRUCE KING WASHINGTON, 78, of Little Rock, Ark., received his call to enter into eternal rest on Thursday, March 8, 2012. Bruce was born on Dec. 27, 1933 in Hope, Ark. He was a longtime employee of Alcoa and a member of St. Peter's Rock Baptist Church, where he served as Superintendent of Sunday School and the Senior Usher Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce Washington Sr., Champ and Vassie L. Smith and his beloved wife Martha Jean Washington. He leaves to cherish his memory son, Courtney L. Washington of Roswell, Ga.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of his life will be Thursday, March 15, 2012 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Rock Baptist Church, 2201 Brown St. Little Rock, Ark. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Ave. North Little Rock, Ark. Family visitation: March 14, 2012 Wednesday 6-7 p.m. at Gunn Funeral Home.
