Georgia Marie Davis

GEORGIA MARIE DAVIS, 87, of North Little Rock, passed on to glory on March 8, 2012, in Chicago, Ill. where she lived for the past two years. She's preceded in death by: her husband of 44 years, Cecil E. Davis Sr.; daughter, Dorothy Davis and son, Cecil E. Davis Jr. She is survived by: Two daughters, Etta McGregor-Jones of Chicago, Ill., and JoRita Clarks of Jacksonville, Ark. Mrs. Davis leaves to cherish her loving memories: nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the country. Mrs. Davis was a devout member of Eighth Street Baptist Church of North Little Rock for over 50 years, where she faithfully attended Sunday school and sang in the choir. After a 17 year career with KARK television station, Mrs. Davis retired and began her career as an independent sales consultant for Avon Cosmetics. Throughout her life, Mrs. Davis was known for her love of baking, as well as her willingness to help friends and family in their time of need. Visitation hours will be Thursday, March 15, 2012, 6-8 p.m., at Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 Chester Street, Little Rock, Ark. (501) 372-1305. Home going service will be Friday, March 16, 2012, 11 a.m., at Eighth Street Baptist Church, 821 Hickory Street, North Little Rock, Ark. Burial will be at the Little Rock National Cemetery.
