James Duncan Harris

JAMES DUNCAN HARRIS, 76 of Jacksonville, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at his home. He was born Jan. 31, 1936 in Des Arc to the late George W. and Annie Spades Harris. James served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic until he retired. On July 2, 1967, he married Johanna Stephan in Freyung, Germany. James was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wilford and Jerry Harris, and a sister, Martha McVay. James is survived by his wife, Johanna Harris; two sons, Jerry and his wife, Mattie Harris, Michael Harris, all of Jacksonville; step-daughter, Barbara Man of Germany; four grandchildren, Ethan Harris of Jacksonville, and Daniel, Benjamin and Sarah Man all of Germany; three sisters, Velma and her husband, Floyd Bivens of Burbank, Calif., Mary Castleberry, Geniva Sue Smith, both of Des Arc. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 12, 2012 at the funeral home chapel.
