WALTA CAUSEY NICHOLSON, 85, a resident of Little Rock, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 7. She was a Christian of remarkable faith and many beautiful talents, which she shared in blessing the lives of everyone who knew her. Walta was a member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church in Little Rock, a graduate of the University of Mississippi, and a loving wife, mother, and friend. Above all, she loved the Lord, and she devoted her life to Him and to her family. "The Lord says, ‘I will rescue those who love me, I will protect those who trust in My Name." Among Walta's survivors are her two daughters, Anna Nicholson Bass of Hammond, Louisiana, and Grace Nicholson of Atlanta, Georgia; her son, William Nicholson of Atlanta and his wife Cynthia; and grandchildren Elizabeth and Will Nicholson of Atlanta. Walta was preceded in death by her husband, William Winter Nicholson Jr. The family extends special thanks to Gayle Green, her kind caregiver, and to Dr. Jay Holland, her dedicated physician. A memorial service will be held at Pulaski Heights Baptist Church on Monday, March 12 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, 2200 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, Ark. 72205, or to Heifer Project International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, Ark. 72202.
