Leslie Matlock

Mr. Leslie Matlock, 87, of Augusta, died Saturday, March 10, 2012. He was born in Woodruff County on July 20, 1924, the son of Jim and Sally Ann (Weaver) Matlock. He married Miss Dorothy Ransom on Nov. 16, 1946, and they enjoyed 65 years together. Mr. Matlock attended the Church of God, and loved to work on the farm. He was preceded in death by three brother, Floydie, Cletus, and Edward Matlock; two sisters, Virgie Fraze and Alma Nail; and his parents. Mr. Matlock is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Matlock; one son, Ronnie Matlock and wife Dale of Sheridan; one daughter, Sylvia Matlock Chandler of Searcy; three grandchildren, Kevin Matlock and wife Stephanie of Greenville, N.C., Matt Smith and wife Robyn of Searcy, and Josh Heath of Searcy; and several great-grandchildren. Visitation is Monday, noon until 2 p.m. with services to follow at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Woodman Cemetery.
