Sylvia Reinglass Friedman

SYLVIA REINGLASS FRIEDMAN, 97, passed away Saturday. She was born May 25, 1914 in Chicago, Ill. She was the daughter of the late Abraham and Helen Reinglass and the sister of the late Dr. Samuel Reinglass, a surgeon, who lived in Canton, Ohio. She grew up and was educated in Chicago. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Maurice Friedman, a dental specialist in Little Rock to whom she was married for 59 years. The couple found their way to Little Rock after Dr. Friedman was stationed at Camp Robinson during World War II. They had lived in Little Rock since that time. She is survived by a daughter, Lynn Zoldessy of Little Rock, and a son, Dr. Charles Friedman of Beaufort, S.C.; four grandchildren, Shayne Sommer of Little Rock, Elliott Friedman and Danner Friedman of Beaufort and Porter Friedman of Portland, Ore. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews. The family wishes to give thanks to her many friends and caregivers, John Sommer in particular, as well as the supportive staff, nurses and physicians at the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging and Arkansas Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock with a graveside service following at Oakland Jewish Cemetery. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County.
