John W. Bowden

John W. Bowden, 73, of Atkins, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at Baptist Health in Little Rock. He was born September 17, 1938 in Atkins the son of Roy and Mabel Laywell Bowden. He was a retired private contractor who enjoyed flying his plane and traveling. Additionally, he was a skilled woodworker, and friends and family enjoyed the pieces he built and shared with them. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Bewley; and a nephew, Eddie Bewley. He is survived by a sister, Doris Jones of Fayetteville; two nephews and four nieces. Memorial services are 2 p.m., Saturday, March 17 at Lemley Chapel. Family will receive friends from 1:30-2 p.m. prior to services.
