Joseph B. Pierce, M.D., 61, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. He was born April 7, 1950 in Searcy, Arkansas, to Billy Joe and Gene Booth Pierce. He graduated from Searcy High School and attended Southwestern University at Memphis, Tennessee, Hendrix College, and medical school at UAMS. He was a psychiatrist at VA Fort Roots for 27 years. Member of Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father and granddad. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Pam Waggoner Pierce; son, Christopher J. Pierce (Robyn); daughter, Courtney Pierce Kelly (Paul); two grandchildren, Denver and Brody Kelly; his mother; brother, Dr. James T. Pierce (Lisa) of Heber Springs, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2012 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, (501) 224-8300. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, with Reverend Thompson Murray officiating.
