Elva L. Hester

Elva Louise "Lou" Hester, age 92, of Benton, passed away Wednesday evening, March 14, 2012, at Saline Memorial Hospice House at Bryant, Arkansas. She was born October 9, 1919, to Albert V. and Rosebud Greenway Barnette at Blocher, Arkansas. She was a graduate of Fountain Lake High School and a member of Grape Chapel Church of God. Mrs. Hester was preceded in death by her husband Rogie L. Hester, her parents, her brother, Walker Barnette, and her step-mother, Etha Lee Barnette. Survivors include her son, Albert Lee Hester, of Bryant; and her daughter, Sandra Catton and husband Jim, of Bryant; granddaughter, Carol Catton Curtis and husband Shannon; grandsons, Michael Catton and wife Debra, Clint Hester and wife Kim, Aaron Hester and wife Amy; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Sanders, Preston Curtis, Abby, Logan, and Reid Catton, Kaylie and Lucas Hester. Additional survivors include step-grandchildren, Cameron and Darian Lee, and Victoria Engel. Graveside services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10 a.m., Monday at Pine Crest with Bro. Rick Dunn officiating. Visitation at Ashbys will be 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saline Memorial Hospice House, 23157 Hwy.
