Christine Vickers Morgan

Christine Vickers Morgan, age 89, of Fordyce, Ark. formerly of Ingalls, Ark. died Saturday, March 17, at home surrounded by family and loving friends. She was born Aug. 13, 1922 at Ingalls, Ark. a daughter of the late Henry Grady Vickers and Virginia Sharp Vickers. She was a graduate of the McGehee Public School System, a member of the Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church and a retired fire tower operator for the Arkansas Forestry Commission. She loved teaching young girls the art of sewing, quilting and jelly making. She found beauty in all things and everyone she knew. She married John Duel Morgan on July 19, 1944 at Warren, Ark. and they farmed at Eagle Lake, Ark. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1987. Surviving is a son Allen Morgan and spouse Carol, Arkadelphia, Ark.; a daughter Gwen Savage and spouse Mike, Fordyce, Ark.; three brothers Frank Vickers, Dumas, Ark., Dan Vickers, Ingalls, Ark. and Bobby Vickers, Crossett, Ark.; three sisters Florence Gorman, El Dorado, Ark., Margie DuBose, Elmhurst, Ill., and Doris Glasgow, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; seven grandchildren Rob Savage and spouse Leann, Craig Savage and spouse Chrissy, Jonathan Savage and spouse Stacy, Brian Morgan and spouse April, Breanne Kirksey and spouse Justin, John Morgan and spouse Natalie and Grant Morgan; eight great-grandchildren Matt Savage, Taylor Savage, Ethan Savage, Alyssa Savage, Addison Savage, Sam Morgan, Cole Kirksey and Trent Kirksey. Mrs. Morgan was also preceded in death by two brothers Dr. George Vickers and Herman Vickers. Funeral services 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 19, at Frazer's Chapel.
