Esther Elizabeth Rector

Esther Elizabeth Rector passed away on March 19th, 2012. She was born in North Little Rock on April 17th, 1926, the youngest child of James T. (John) and Annie Elizabeth Meyers Brannum. She graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1944 and went to work for Meyer Brothers Drug Company. In 1948 she married Henry Eugene Rector and changed her vocation to homemaker. After the children were grown she went to work for Arkansas State Hospital, where she retired. She lived almost her entire life in Pulaski County. Esther loved working outdoors in the yard or going fishing. After she became ill, she loved watching the squirrels and birds play in her front yard. She loved watching and listening to the Gaithers but most of all, she loved her family. Esther was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband and her only son, Bryan Dale Rector. She is survived by her daughters: Marilyn (Lorenzo) Briscoe of Cabot and Anita (Gene) Childress of Dennard, her grandchildren: Lorenzo Ashley (Chiquita) Briscoe of Sherwood, Heath (Andrea) Briscoe of Fremont, Calif., Amy (Dan) Keller of Saint Louis, Mo., Chris (Michelle) Rector of Conway, Eugenia (Robert) Fulmer of Jacksonville and Donna (Sylvester) White of Little Rock; and numerous great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21st at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, located at 7724 Landers Rd. in North Little Rock. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, March 22nd at 10 am.,. at Rest Hills Chapel with burial to follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
