John Edward Yancey

John Edward Yancey, 52, of Marvell, Arkansas passed away while battling cancer Monday, March 19, 2012 at his home. Mr. Yancey was born February 11, 1960 at Helena, Arkansas to the late James E. and Rachel Irene Tschabold Yancey. John attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He then returned home to join his father in the family farming operation. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marvell, Arkansas where he enjoyed the love and fellowship of his church family. Mr. Yancey is survived by his wife, Tracy Lynn Yancey of Marvell; three sons, James Justin Yancey and wife, Amy of Augusta, Georgia, John Kyle Yancey of Conway, Arkansas, and Jonathan Chase Yancey of Marvell; one daughter, Bridget Lynn Simmons of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two sisters, Rachel Ann Faust and husband, Al of Marvell and Camille Yancey Gammill and husband, John of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and one grandson, Lane Carter Yancey. Funeral services for John Edward Yancey will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Marvell. Burial will follow at Cypert Cemetery in the Salem community near Marvell. Reverend Marcus Rogers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at First Baptist Church in Marvell. Pallbearers are Glenn Kale, Chris Kale, Jeff George, Steve Tschabold, Frank Polk, Donald Ray Washburn, Doug Simmons, and Allen Culp. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Steiner, John Hall, Percy Kale, Al Faust, James Adams, Scotty Scaife, Donnie Farr, Adrian Farr, Jody Speakman, John Gammill, Pat George, Jimmy George, Randy Papa, Jim Hubbard and James "Buddy" Densmore.
