Robert M. Wade, 86, of Bryant went to be with our Lord on March 19, 2012. He was born September 27, 1925 in Little Rock. Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Hazel (Noble) Wade, his first wife, Wanda (Sheets) Wade, son Terry Wade, and brothers, Freddy and Ob Starkey. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Burroughs) Wade of Bryant; daughter, Alicia and husband Granville (Bud) Hardin of Benton; three sisters, Elizabeth Simpson of Fort Smith, Rachel Hicks of Texas, and Billy Jean Hargrow of Vilonia, and two brothers, David Starkey of Austin and Otis Shadle of Texas. He will also be in loving memory by his grandchildren, Stephanie Sallis, George Robert Henson, Cody Hardin, Tracey Hardin, Brian Huitt, and Misty Huitt and 8 great grandchildren. Mr. Wade joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and proudly served in WWII and the Korean War. He then worked at Alcoa in Benton for thirty years and once retired, he became a plumbing and building inspector for the city of Bryant. Mr. Wade was a member of Fuller Chapel Church, the Dixie Car Club of Benton, and the Metropolitan Auto Club. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) with Elder James Winston and Bro. Kim Hammer officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Pallbearers will be Brian Huitt, George Robert Henson, Cody Hardin, Granville (Bud) Hardin, Randy Johnson, and Martin Brown. Ronald (Butch) Clements will serve as honorary pallbearer. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 21st at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saline Memorial Hospice House, 23157 Hwy. I-30, Bryant, Ark. 72022.
