Agnes Armstrong Terrell

Agnes Armstrong Terrell, 82, formerly of North Little Rock passed on Sunday, March 18th in New Orleans, La. She was the daughter of the late Callie and Ralph Armstrong. Agnes was the first African American Registered Nurse hired by the North Little Rock Veterans Hospital. She continued her nursing career with the VA system in New Orleans and retired after 34 years of service. Her memory will be cherished by her daughter Jo Maguire of Wylie, Texas; two grandchildren, Kevin Mitchell (Shanel) and Krystie Magee; three great grandchildren; her sister, Helen Louise Ray of North Little Rock as well as other relatives and friends. A memorial service was held in New Orleans on March 22nd. Visitation will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 24th followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 South Chester St. LR (501) 372-1305. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery.
