Lemual W. Newcomb

Lemual W. Newcomb (Dub, as he was finally known), age 79, of Heber Springs, fell asleep in death on March 15, 2012, with two of his sons at his bedside. He was born on Jan. 2, 1933, in North Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Lee Newcomb and Maude Bell (Rood) Newcomb. Mr. Newcomb was a retired masonry contractor and had done a lot of work in the Heber Springs area. He served our country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Loving survivors include his four children, Mickie and Janet Newcomb of Missouri, Rickie and Kim Newcomb of Beebe, Ark., Regina and Roy Oates of Marshall, Texas, and Timothy and Pam Newcomb of Linden, Texas; one brother, Luke and Joyce Newcomb of Poway, Calif.; two sisters, Lily Raper of Benton and Patsy and G. W. Garner of Heber Springs; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Mr. Newcomb is also survived by other relatives and his many friends. Memorials may be made to Hospice. Due to an illness in the family, a memorial service is planned at a later date. www.olmstead.cc.
