Tommy W. (Jock) Grimes

TOMMY W. (JOCK) GRIMES, of Jacksonville, age 80, departed this life March 23, 2012. He was born June 12, 1931, in Ward, Ark. He served his country honorably for eight years, including one tour of duty in Korea during the Korean conflict in 1953. He married the love of his life, Joyce Collins in 1956 in Natchez, Miss. They raised two lovely girls, Tommie Annette and Pamela Jean. He spent 38 years employed to by ABF Freight Systems before retiring in 1994. Left to enjoy his memory are his wife, Joyce; daughters, Tommie Annette (Bill) Timmons and Pamela Jean (Tommy) Lamb; granddaughters Sarah Annette Timmons and Jenna Michelle Lamb; and grandson, Michael Thomas Lamb, all of Jacksonville; and a large extended family of friends and acquaintances. He will be truly missed. He is preceded in death by his brother, Eugene (Gene) Grimes of North Little Rock; his granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Lamb; and grandson William B. (Brad) Timmons. The family wishes to extend a very special thank-you to the V.A. Hospice/Palliative Care Unit for their care and kindness in our time of need. Memorials may be made to V.A. Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at First Assembly of God Church, 221 North Elm, Jacksonville, Ark., with Brother Royce Lowe officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 26, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F.
