Joseph Conrad Williams

Joseph Conrad Williams, age 73, of Stuttgart died Wednesday, March 21, 2012. He was born on August 9, 1938, in Nashville, AR to the late Charlie Lafayette and Clova B. Williams. After graduating from Nashville High School, he attended Henderson State University and University of Arkansas. He touched many lives as an education administrator and flying instructor in Stuttgart. He started his teaching career in Brinkley and went on to serve as principal of Partee Elementary. He also served as principal of Julia Shannon, Stuttgart Junior High and Stuttgart High School for many years. He was named Superintendant of the Stuttgart School District and the Brinkley School District before retiring to pursue his love of flying as a second career. He was instrumental in starting the Stuttgart Mosquito Abatement Program and flew the mosquito plane for over 25 years. He was currently employed as a pilot for Bobby Wilkerson. Joe lived in Stuttgart and Hot Springs and is survived by wife, Marilyn Williams; siblings, Martha (Ray) Hinds of Houston, Texas, Charles E. Williams (Donna Kay) of Dickinson, Texas and Don Williams (Anna) of Lake Jackson, Texas. He is also survived by his children, Ross Williams (Susan) of Clarendon, Randy Erwin (Andrea) of Stuttgart, Dr. Steven Erwin (Megan) and Drs. Scott Erwin (Janette) of Hot Springs; and grandchildren Andrew Reynolds and Joseph Ryan Williams of Clarendon, Rachel and Elaina Erwin of Stuttgart, Halle Erwin of Stuttgart, Luke and Lauren Erwin of Hot Springs, and Ashlynn and Colt Erwin of Hot Springs.
