Charles Paul Brocato, 90 of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away Monday, March 26th, 2012. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to V.L. Brocato, a descendant of Italy and Mamie Fulco Brocato of Benton, Louisiana. Mr. Brocato was of Catholic faith and a member of St. Joseph's Church in Shreveport. Charles Paul attended Fair Park High School in Shreveport where he received a music scholarship to LSU. He had a beautiful voice and loved singing in Italian. However, he never pursued his scholarship but did serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corp. Charlie was employed in the bar business and worked his way into owning several upscale private establishments. Later he and wife "Dee" moved to Texas where he resided until finally settling in Arkansas with his son and daughter-in-law. Mr. Brocato shared a very special bond with his son, Charles whom he called "Scoot," one of their favorite pastimes was watching Dallas Cowboys football games together. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Bonnie Delois (Pickering) Brocoto, parents, sister Josephine Brocato Dormer, daughter Paula, granddaughter Deanna and son Charles Vincent Brocoto. He is survived by his grandchildren, Brian and John Hopkins of Arlington, Texas, Jeff Brocato of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Matt Brocato of Fort Smith, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Kaitlyn and Blake Brocato of Pocola Oklahoma, extended family, cousins and close friends. Gravesides services will be held Friday, March 30th, 2012 at 2 p.m. with visitation at 1 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas. www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
