Leila Beal Bevensee

Leila Beal Bevensee, 86, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Medford Oregon. Leila was born and raised in Little Rock Ark. She met her husband Fred Bevensee at Wheaton College in Wheaton Ill. She and her husband served as missionaries for Wycliffe Bible Translators in Peru and later in Duncanville Texas. She was an RN and worked for many years at the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Fred, Ashland, Ore., and daughters, Jean (Jeff) Gilmore, Ashland, Ore., Jill Bevensee, Ashland Ore., Virginia (Joel) Lee, Duncanville, Texas, Nancy Sawyer, Rockville, Md., and Alice (David) Selman, of Red Oak, Texas. She leaves 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her brothers, Joseph (Kathleen) Beal, Kettering, Ohio, Sam Beal, Conway, Ark., Bob (Gladys) Beal, Little Rock, Harrison Beal, San Marcos, Cailf., and her sister, Catherine (Jim) Erickson, Des Moines, Iowa. Leila was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth Beal Mayhew, Medora Beal Grissom, and Lenora Beal Lefever. She was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and a great role model for all who knew her. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday March 31, 2012 at Ashland Bible Church, Ashland, Ore. A private Interment will be held Roselawn Memorial Park, Little Rock on April 20, 2012. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
