Ruth Parker

Ruth Parker, 91, of White Hall, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Parker was born April 26, 1920, in Tillman, Louisiana, to the late Alfred L. and Ada Goleman O'Neal. She was reared and received her early education in Tillman, graduating from Fairview High School in 1937. Ruth O'Neal married Frank E. Parker on December 22, 1938, in Leesville, Louisiana. They moved to Pine Bluff in 1958. Mrs. Parker was a homemaker and a member of White Hall United Pentecostal Church, where she had served as church secretary for many years. She is survived by four sons, George E. Parker of Star City, Bobby D. Parker, Danny L. Parker, and Patrick E. Parker, all of Pine Bluff; four daughters, Frances Pierce, Peggy Hale, Barbara Anderson, and Connie Drake, all of White Hall; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Hardy L. O'Neal of Sulphur, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank E. Parker, who passed away in 2003, a son, Gary D. Parker, a great-grandchild, Kaitlyn Pierce, three brothers, Ford O'Neal, O.R. O'Neal, and Alton O'Neal, and two sisters, Melba Jackson and Eretta Gibson. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 29, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Robinson's. Funeral services will be Friday, March 30, 2012, 10 a.m., at White Hall United Pentecostal Church with Reverends A.M. Mansfield and Melvin Clifford officiating. Burial will be Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Blackjack Cemetery in Pitkin, Louisiana.
