Charles Jimmy "C.J." Fisher, 85, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Searcy, was born February 3, 1927 at Beebe, Arkansas, to Charles and Gladys (Steininger) Fisher, and he died Thursday, March 29, 2012 after a battle with Alzheimer's and bladder cancer. He was a WWII Navy veteran, and was retired from Southwestern Bell after thirty-eight years of service. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Johnnie (McKenney) Fisher, of Hot Springs, formerly of Searcy and Beebe; one son, Stephen (Jane) Fisher; two daughters, Brenda (Keith) Matthews and Sarah (Mark) Robbins, both of Hot Springs; grandchildren Adam Matthews, Josh (April) Matthews, Will Matthews, Ben Robbins, Grace Robbins and Matt (Lauren) Landers; great-grandchildren Charlee May Matthews and Addison Landers; nephew, John Kean; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Arlie Fisher, Maxine Kean and George Fisher. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, Searcy, with memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. Interment was Friday at Beebe Cemetery.
