Mr. Herbert Walker Chambless, 91 of DeAnn, passed away Saturday May 19, 2012 at his home. He was born September 10,1920 to Walker Chambless and Fannie Schooley Chambless. He was a long time member of the White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in DeAnn and a deacon in the church.He was an army veteran of World War II . He was a retired lumber grader for the Potlatch lumber company and a retired farmer. He was a 20 year member of the Emmet school board and spent most of his enjoyment in life fishing, hunting, gardening, and being a cattleman. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son Tim Chambless. Mr. Chambless is survived by his wife, Sally McCorkle Chambless; his; son Gary Chambless wife Pat of DeAnn; his daughter; Kathy Finuf, husband Buster of El Dorado, Arkansas; his daughter-in-law; Darlene Hardin, husband Bradley of Little Rock, Arkansas; his sisters; Mary Ruth Abbot of Prescott, Arkansas, Sammy Martin of Perrytown, Arkansas, Joan Stockton husband James of Prescott, Arkansas, and June Carruthers of Hope, Arkansas; six grandchildren; Matt Chambless and wife, Britani of Hope Arkansas, Jason Chambless of Bryant, Arkansas, Mike Sweat of El Dorado, Arkansas, Kristin Smith of El Dorado, Cole Chambless of Little Rock, Arkansas and Ali Chambless of Dallas Texas; four great care givers; Georgia Bohall, JoAnn De Jean, Ann Clark, and Vickie Wilson. The Chambless family will receive friends, 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2012 at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home. Funeral service for Mr. Chambless will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 22 at White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in DeAnn. Bro. John Nations and Bro. Loyd Roper will officiate the service. Burial to follow in White Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope.
