Dalene Ellen Carpenter was born in England, Arkansas on November 28, 1924, and went to meet the Lord on Thursday, October 25, 2012. She passed away from a sudden illness and was 87 years young. She was born to Joe Eddie Stone and Burt Henry. Ms. Carpenter is preceded in death by husbands, Adrian Graham and John Carpenter as well as her 20-year companion, Al Turney. She is also proceeded in death by a son, Rickey Graham; daughters-in-law, Liz and Brenda Graham; sister, Deane Brake and brothers, Burt Henry Jr., Fred Henry and Joe Henry. She is survived by her son, Pete Graham of North Little Rock, Arkansas; her daughter, Donna Scrivner (Ron) of Vallejo, California; her brothers, Carol Henry and David Henry; her sister, Peggy McElrath, all of North Little Rock, Arkansas. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Diane Truax, Dr. Adrian Graham Jr., Cassie LaMonte, Rickey Graham Jr. and Mark Graham; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also has numerous nieces and nephews and cousins galore. Ms. Carpenter worked at Tuf-Nut Factory during WWII making uniforms for soldiers in Little Rock. She moved to Vallejo, California in 1951 and worked at Levi-Strauss for five years and then moved back to Little Rock. Missing California weather, she and her family moved back to Vallejo in 1957 for good. She resumed work in Napa for Rough Riders, retiring in 1968. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the ladies of The Elks. She was also a member of the Greater Vallejo Lioness Club. She has countless friends and had her Tuesday night Domino Club. Ms. Carpenter was an avid San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan and her favorite hobby was traveling when she was younger. She was an avid reader and loved Dancing with the Stars. She will always be a shining star to all she left behind. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock. Services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home.
